This is a poem I have recently written and read at a family members funeral.

I know everyone has a time
A time thats theirs alone
A time thats marked forever
Written, embedded in that stone

Why can't the ill be saved?
The fighters who have a will
A will to live their life
Those who have life left still

These are questions
With answers unknown
questions which make it harder
to lose one of your own

So free my eyes of the pain
Clean the cheeks stained with fear
Of not knowing where your going
Of not having you near

I know he must of wanted you
For a specific reason I'm sure
Who could blame him
He wanted the genuine person you were

We will think of you today
We will think of you tomorrow
We'll think of all the happy times
And not just the sorrow

We will think of you with love
But that is nothing new
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too

We will think of you in silence
We will often speak your name
Now all we have is memories
And your picture in a frame

Your memory is our keepsake
With which we'll never part
God has you in his keeping
But we have you in our hearts

I love this poem. I think is very thoughtful like I said in your workshop. It really touched me a lot especially because I've recently lost a loved one.

This is a awesome poem. Unfortunetly, I lost my cousin to a car accident about 5 years ago and I think that makes this poem make so much sense to me!
You could just take the last 3 stanzas and that could be a poem itself to me!
